Drama Club pupils sat Trinity Guildhall Speech and Drama solo examinations on the 19th September. Each of the pupils worked hard rehearsing poems, monologues, mimes, sight-reading and improvisations all year before sitting their examinations. Special mention to six pupils who sat a Trinity Guildhall Group examination. These students were asked to introduce and perform a scene developed through improvisation based on an original, traditional or published story.
I taught students about the Rainbow warrior – a Nuclear protest ship that sunk in Auckland Harbour. The pupils reenacted the scene to gain an understanding of sequence of events and reactions of the people present.
Laura Cave, Thomas Fitzpatrick, Logan Groot, Logan Perrott, Michael Jacobs and Emily Lynch received a mark of Merit for their group examination. The examiner stated “The story gathered momentum with creative use of the space and effective characterization.”
