A huge ‘Well done!’ to all of the Drama Club pupils who participated in the Hutt Valley Performing Arts Competition on 17th & 18th July 2016.
Our students were chosen to compete in the Hutt Valley Performing Arts Competition based on their marks in the 2015 Trinity College examinations.
The categories that our students competed in included mime, improvisation, character recital, poetry recital, prepared speeches, reading at sight and prepared prose.
I was impressed that the Drama Club students stepped up to this challenge and gave outstanding performances in front of a live audience at the Little Theatre in Lower Hutt.
The Drama Club students took out a lot of the top prizes and gained the following awards:
- 1st – 18
- 2nd – 17
- 3rd – 22
- VHC – 14
- HC – 9
- C – 9
We were also awarded cups for the most promising performance, the best verse in the competition, most outstanding dramatic characterisation, overall junior championship winner, overall senior championship winner, and overall intermediate championship winner.
I’m so proud and impressed with all of the pupils who participated in these competitions. Well done to all of you, your hard work has paid off!
